This paper assesses the importance of Russian arms transfers and defense-technological assistance to Asian military modernization. More specifically, the text's author 1) addresses the current state of the Russian arms industry, which depends heavily on arms exports to the Asia-Pacific region; 2) explores the importance of Russian military-technological assistance to Asia-Pacific militaries; and 3) speculates on the future of Russian arms exports to key buyers and others (China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.).
