This commentary examines the ways in which China and Russia strengthened their relationship in 2015 and prognosticates on how their relationship might evolve this year. The increased cooperation has thus far included 1) resumed arms sales by Russia to the PRC; 2) greater collaboration on local currency settlements, bank card availability, access to local currency bond markets, and credit-rating partnerships; and 3) joint regional and international initiatives.
