This issue of the CMJ includes five articles on assorted military issues. More specifically, the articles focus on 1) whether Canada should opt for a new or off-the-shelf design for its navy's Surface Combatant Program; 2) the elusive quality of Institutional Excellence (IE), and how it relates to Canada's Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF); 3) the dynamic and ongoing changes in the Canadian Military's operating environment and how they are affecting the personnel requirements; 4) social work in the Canadian military; and 5) the ever-increasing role that lethal autonomous systems will play on the battlefields of the future.
