This report contemplates the effectiveness of global multi-stakeholder initiatives (MSIs), which are cooperation platforms that are expected, for example, to complement governmental efforts to realize the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The text's author additionally 1) provides conceptual starting points for studying MSIs; 2) reviews their general utility; and 3) examines the perceived added value of the Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) Initiative, as illustrated by its country-level footprint in Nepal.
