This paper analyzes the future prospects of Singapore-Malaysia relations. Despite the long-standing differences in the two countries’ political ideologies, their common diplomatic norms, mutual respect, and new leadership cadres have created what is presently the most positive period in their bilateral relations. However, further cooperation is possible, the text’s author concludes, if the two states observe international rules and norms and pursue their shared economic interests.
