This paper looks at US international policy under President Trump’s administration, including 1) how it has been shaped by domestic priorities and trends; 2) burden sharing in NATO; 3) the US’ commitment to Europe and more. The text’s author concludes that the Trump administration has brought an extraordinary measure of uncertainty to US foreign policy. So will a reset of US foreign policy be possible after Trump leaves office? To a degree, suggests the author. However, the world has moved on and it is likely that aspects of the Trump policy agenda will remain in place.
