This collection of articles considers the possibility of hypothetical, unexpected turns in Russia’s foreign policy. The next-steps could include 1) Moscow interfering with France’s upcoming elections; 2) the launch of a multifaceted campaign to discredit Germany; 3) amplified tensions between Russia and Serbia; 4) a breakthrough in Russia’s Kuril Islands dispute with Japan; 5) the emergence of Russia as Iraq’s primary security partner; 6) Moscow’s withdrawal from nuclear arms control efforts; 7) the loss of Gazprom’s export monopoly; 8) greater Russian interventionism in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan; and 9) the unification of North and South Ossetia within the Russian Federation.
