This report studies the role and reaction of civil society in the 2nd World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) that took place in Tunisia in 2005. The author assesses the positive and negative results of the summit for civil society. She observes the multi-stakeholder process of the WSIS that includes not only governments, but also all relevant UN bodies and other international organizations, NGOs, civil society, the private sector and the media.
