This report explores the processes of disarmament, demobilization and reintegration (DDR) within the context of post-conflict peacebuilding in Afghanistan. The author investigates the transformation of soldiers to civilians in the aftermath of war. The purpose of the paper is to facilitate practical recommendations for DDR measures to be used in future cases of post-conflict peacebuilding.
