This brief examines the state of current social and political dynamics within the United States and analyzes how these conditions have contributed to the so called ‘Trump Phenomenon.’ The author attributes Trump’s success to a combination of factors, including his abandonment of traditional conservatism by focusing on economic inequality, a growing sense of discontent among members of the general public, and his formidable marketing and communication skills. The brief concludes with the assessment that the American political landscape will be significantly altered regardless of who takes control of the oval office in 2017.
