This paper discusses myth and reality of World War II US industrial mobilization. The author provides an in-depth analysis of the mobilization process and the organizational bodies involved. He also analyzes different aspects of the US economy and the problems it faced during the war. The paper concludes that planning to mobilize the tools of war is essential and may be costly, but the expense will be minuscule compared to fighting without a plan.
