This paper analyzes the July 2005 visit of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the United States. It considers the objectives of the visit, analyzes the outcomes and achievements of the visit in light of both the United States and Indian perspectives, assesses the future of India-US relations, and examines the significance of India - US relations for Southeast Asia.
