This text reviews the “Regional Security Outlook 2017,” which is rather despondent about the prospects for the Asia-Pacific region. The document looks at the security status of the region as a whole and two acute problems in particular – North Korea’s nuclear weapon program and the ongoing territorial disputes in the South China Sea.
