This publication explores the complexity of existing conflict in Isiolo County, Kenya, addressing the conflict’s causes, nature and characteristics as well as the actors involved. In doing so, the text’s author explains how the marginalization of Isiolo and other northern counties, in conjunction with civil war in several neighboring countries, has influenced an unhindered supply and demand of arms given the lack of state protection for communities from cattle raids.
