This paper examines the kind of solutions that may emerge for the so-called frozen conflicts of the European periphery, especially the Caucasus. Possible solutions include the widening of the Europeanization process, a closer cooperation with the US or a further "Russification" of the region. The paper explores how US, Russian and European involvement may affect the prospects for the Caucasus.
