This paper analyzes the Turkish position in regard to EU accession and assesses the theoretical and practical possibilities for accommodating Turkey’s demands in the European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP). It argues that an accommodation of Turkey in the European security sphere is imperative for a resolution of the EU’s credibility problem.
