This conference report examines the phenomenon of globalization in the context of defense trends and patterns. The first part of the conference is centered on the examination of whether greater economic interdependence, which comes with globalization, will result in greater cooperation. Or, will it exacerbate existing rivalries and lead to conflict. The second part addresses how globalization affects a country's threat perception and its defense posture. The third part analyzes how economic globalization affects the defense economy and allocation of resources to different sectors of the economy. Lastly, the fourth part focuses on how globalization affects the defense industry and the acquisition and procurement policies and practices of different states.
