This conference report provides an overview of the threats faced by the countries in the Asia-Pacific region and the counterterrorism initiatives in operation. Seven panels of experts discuss the internal and external factors contributing to the rise of terrorist groups and extremist networks in the region. They address the changing nature of the terrorist groups, the global-local tensions and the ideology, rehabilitation and reintegration of the jihadists. The speakers make policy recommendations for creating a hostile environment for terrorist groups and their supporters.
