This workshop summarizes the proceedings of an IDSS-sponsored workshop on UN peace operations in the Asia-Pacific region. Workshop participants - researchers and practitioners in peacekeeping from Asia and other regions - examined the UN doctrine and framework for peace operations and interventions carried out in the name of the UN. They also discussed new UN strategies for dealing with peace operations, and assessed the division of labor between the UN and regional organizations.
