This working paper features two parts that present results from empirical research carried out in Italy and the UK within a research project on entrepreneurial strategies and trust. The first part discusses the case of the Italian industrial district of Prato, whereby special attention is given to cooperation within firms, relations with clients and subcontracting relations. The second part first reviews key literature relating to trust and entrepreneurial behavior. Subsequently, it summarizes the results from an empirical study presenting the case of bioscience and engineering firms in Northeast UK.
