This paper examines the relations between humanitarian professionals and military representatives. It states that humanitarian professionals feel two main kinds of fear: the fear around perception and identity and fear of co-option and assimilation. The author concludes that if the church is primarily and truly the church in any war, then it will be better understood by all groups than if it tries to identify itself as a humanitarian agency.
