This paper attempts to give a Christian response to the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty's report on the responsibility to protect. The author reflects on responsibility to protect themes such as sovereignty, political will and effective action, risk and vulnerability in comparison to the Gospel. The author concludes that Christian realism in international relations needs to be understood by the Church but expressed carefully, compassionately and constructively.
