This paper reports the research findings from a comparative study of Muslim piety in Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Iran, Egypt, Turkey and Kazakhstan. The findings of the study show similarities as well as significant differences in the patterns of religious commitments among the questioned people in the surveyed countries. The author explains how the research is one of the first attempts to map out Muslim religious beliefs and practices in the different Muslim countries and societies.
