This paper examines technological globalization in East Asia and focuses on its impact on regional security. The author argues that processes of technological globalization reinforce the importance of regional security to East Asian states and their established predisposition to consider security in regional terms. The author concludes that the central role of technological globalization processes in the ongoing efforts of regional states to further develop their economies in the context of the global economy suggests that it will continue to have such an effect.
