This paper provides a general overview of security in South Asia. The author details the regional security implications of the persisting conflict between India and Pakistan as well as the unresolved boundary questions between India and China. The paper also discusses the political consequences and security threats posed by religious and idelological extremism in almost all of the South Asian countries.
