This briefing analyzes the situation in Iran and observes economic and political discontent of the population. It shows that the political opposition is not unified or broadly supported, and that the state controls an effective security network to guarantee its power. The paper concludes by stating that the regime remains strong and not undermined by the political opposition and street protests.
