This briefing analyzes the crisis in Macedonia in 2001 resulting in violence between ethnic Albanians and Slavic Macedonians. It examines the events leading to the Ohrid peace agreement in August 2001 and assesses its content. It concludes by outlining what needs to be done to secure peace in the country.
