This paper addresses three military topics related to the post-Dayton situation in Bosnia, including the balance of military forces among the former combatants on a sub-regional level, the US-sponsored "Train and Equip" program and the NATO exit strategy. Further attention is paid to the question whether war might resume and to sub-regional arms control measures. With respect to NATO’s exit, the paper argues for developing a transition strategy that alters the role and composition of the NATO forces over time.
