This report seeks to describe the current position of the three major religious communities in Kosovo. The paper aims to clarify misconceptions about the involvement of religion in the Kosovo conflict and proposes some areas where religion might serve as a means to encourage reconciliation. The paper explores the role of Islam, of the Roman Catholic Church and of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and reviews the damage inflicted on their physical heritage. The paper argues that religion is not a major factor contributing to the divide between Kosovo’s Albanians and Serbs.
