This report analyzes security interests in Central Asia. It examines the approaches of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyztan and Tajikistan to regional security threats and their military capabilities. The report outlines problems with regional cooperation and the influence of other regional actors, such as Russia and China. It states that shortages of resources and a complex regional security environment are crucial for stabilizing Central Asian security. This makes it essential that these states give priority to improving intra-regional relations and finding common ground for closer cooperation.
