This report examines the situation of Muslim, especially Turkish, immigrants in Germany. It discusses their organizations and the government policy toward them. The paper explores issues that must be addressed if the integration of second generation and immigrant Muslims is to be achieved. The authors argue that the fundamental problems of Turkish Germans and other Muslims are rooted in disfranchisement, social discrimination and the lack of economic and political integration, not religion.
