Following the UK’s formal withdrawal announcement from the EU, this commentary considers the possible economic impact Brexit will have on ASEAN members. The text’s authors conclude that 1) the members would be particularly vulnerable to economic downturns in both Britain and the EU, and 2) potential disruptions in key production networks pose a serious threat to ASEAN’s exporters, primarily by increasing their exposure to external shocks.
