This study addresses the work of NGOs on the issue of intellectual property rights (IPRs). The first part provides a short overview of the IPR issue, presents the overall evolution of intellectual property and drafts a typology of the NGOs involved, including their main arguments, recommendations and strategies. The second part is an index of the main NGOs working on IPRs, outlining their mission, main arguments, activities, governance and publications.
