This short paper discusses the election results of India's largest state Uttar Pradesh, where the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), led by Mayawati, won an absolute majority in the state assembly. The paper explores implications at the national level and for the traditional leading parties, outlines the detailed election results and analyzes how it will affect Uttar Pradesh.
