This publication provides a summary of the facts and data to be found in SIPRI's 752-page "Yearbook 2007: Armaments, Disarmament and International Security." The main connecting theme of the 2007 edition is the developments in 2006 in security and conflicts, military spending and armaments and non-proliferation, arms control and disarmament. It highlights the need for a new broad and comprehensive approach to providing human security in view of the diversity of risks to security in the world today.
