This PRISM issue focuses on Latin American security issues. The text’s articles particularly zero in on 1) the economic dimensions of security, with an specific emphasis on crime, violence and inequality in Latin America and the Caribbean; 2) how the US might foster better relations with its Latin American and Caribbean neighbors; 3) the role reconstruction teams can play in building an enduring peace in Colombia; 4) Russia's diplomatic, military and soft power influence in Latin America; 5) Iranian and Hezbollah operations in the region; and 6) the political and security impact anti-crime militias have had in Mexico, most prominently in the states of Michoacán and Guerrero.
