This paper discusses India's chances to become a global manufacturing and industry hub, presenting a serious threat to China's dominance in this field. The paper summarizes the impressive growth of India's manufacture exports, introduces examples of successful Indian industrial companies and highlights favorable factors that facilitate this development, including competitive labor costs, manufacturing quality and skills, and cheap raw materials. Subsequently, the paper addresses possible impediments for continued growth. The paper argues that India has the potential to become the next manufacturing hub.
