This paper examines violent extremism in Central Asia and compares the different responses of governments in the region to this problem. Unsurprisingly, the text’s author finds that the capacity and motivation to carry our measures against extremist groups vary among the countries. He also looks at how external powers engage with the region to help address extremism and what role multinational security organizations play in national strategies.
