This report analyzes the Palestinian public opinion and the prospects for peace with Israel. The author examines survey data from polls conducted over the past decade. He argues that the willingness to compromise has increased, but that the misperception of Israeli public attitude is evident. The paper identifies greater public willingness to oppose violence in connection with the 1993 Oslo Accords as well as with the post-Arafat era.
