This paper examines the July 2016 murder of an elderly priest in France and the impact it may have on religious-political relations in the country. In order to prevent a further breakdown in communal relations, the author urges members of the Muslim community to reject the attack as an inaccurate representation of their faith and encourages Christian leaders to continue speaking up on behalf of both Muslims and immigrants.
