This paper examines four terrorist-related bombing incidents that occurred in the Northeast United States in September 2016. More specifically, it 1) reviews the events surrounding the attacks and who was involved; 2) explains what the incidents say about the response and monitoring capabilities of US security forces; and 3) outlines the lessons Australia should learn from the assaults, both in terms of prevention and consequence management.
