This policy brief argues that the excision of the competition principle from the new Reform Treaty is not adequate enough to protect the current competition acquis or ensure the healthy future development of community competition law. The author asks if a protocol is enough to protect competition and assesses the consequences for competition if the proposed reform treaty is not amended.
