This paper describes how the real history of relations between the Khmer Rouge communists and their Vietnamese colleagues is veiled in secrecy. The author states that despite of extensive research on the theme, there are still no reliable answers to many key questions. The paper endeavors to tackle this problem and present an objective and impartial picture of what was happening through research based on a study of the former Soviet Union's archival materials.
