This paper provides an outlook of the state of NATO in 2010. According to the author, there are six issues that will shape the future of the organization: new security threats, the future of Russia, the state of the European pillar, US involvement in NATO, the state of the global economy and potential cataclysmic events. The author says that NATO will be forced to respond to the technological innovations of the 21st century and suggests that the proverbial glue of the future NATO will be cooperation based on common values.
