This paper analyzes the concept of war on terror and its impact on the international community. The author explains that the term has come to encompass many different contradictory conflicts: the civil war in Iraq, al-Qaida’s global insurgency, NATO’s efforts to stabilize Afghanistan, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as well as Islamic insurgencies. Which conflicts fit under this definition is determined by ideology, he concludes.
