This paper assesses the risk of possible attacks with chemical weapons by groups affiliated or associated with the al-Qaida terrorist network. The author analyzes whether al-Qaida is at all interested in chemical weapons by evaluating the organization's programs. He argues that the lack of adequate procedures and programs for the production of chemical weapons is the reason why al-Qaida has not made use of them yet. However, he believes that jihad terrorists are interested in chemical weapons and are actively trying to obtain them.
