This JEMIE issue focuses on the potential impact of expanding global migration and related trends on minority rights. The articles specifically zero in on 1) ‘ethnic democracy’ and authoritarian legacies in Italy and Australia’s contemporary migration policies; 2) immigrant integration policies in Finland; 3) how increased mass migration into the EU has had an impact on the constitutional right to free movement of Macedonia’s Roma population; 4) the role media discourse plays in redefining perceptions of minorities and their rights; and 5) Europe’s migrant crisis and what it means for ethnic minority integration on the continent.
