The articles in this issue of the Canadian Military Journal focuses on 1) Russia’s military interventions in neighboring former Soviet republics since 1992; 2) the implications for Canadian Special Operations Forces Command of trends in airpower; 3) what role of the Royal Canadian Navy can play in supporting international peace operations with the UN; 4) how deployment to Somalia changed the Canadian armed forces’ preparations for operations; and 5) the participation of French Canadians in the First World War. The edition also includes four additional opinion and commentary pieces as well as three book reviews.
