The four articles in this edition of the CTC Sentinel focus on 1) Bokao Haram´s kidnapping of girls in Chibok, Nigeria in 2016 and 2017 as well as how this compares to a more recent case of kidnappings in Dapchi by a different jihadist group; 2) al-Shabaab's efforts to take advantage of the ongoing political and security turmoil in Somalia and the penetration of the so-called Islamic State into the country; 3) the growing terrorist insurgency in Burkina Faso by the newly established jihadi group, Ansaroul Islam; and 4) the so-called Islamic State´s use of chemical weapons. The issue also features an interview with Lieutenant Colonel Kent Solheim, Commander of the US´ 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne).
