This paper examines the results and implications of Nepal's elections for a Constituent Assembly on 10 April 2008. It identifies the winning and losing parties, comments on the challenges of the post-election period and points to inter-ethnic and economic challenges. The author highlights that the former Maoist insurgents are emerging to be the duly elected and legitimate government.
